TL DR: I find a lot of songs forgettable, do nothing for the album, or sound more like B-Side or demo material. When I Need A Friend (hot take: it's a great closing track and I only like it because it fits so well).Broken (despite my criticisms, I still find it obnoxiously catchy ahahah).I find myself liking parts of songs more than entire songs too. Sunrise as an instrumental opener does nothing for me when Church ALSO sounds like it's trying to be an opening track.

WHY IS IT ON THE ALBUM IF IT WASN'T DONE!!!!! I wish Arabesque didn't have the sax solo in there or at least wish it wasn't so long, it takes away from the song for me just a little bit, but my opinion has 180'd from not being a fan to loving the song so there's that! #Coldplay album new full#ĭaddy sounds like something off of Ghost Stories (an album I just find kinda boring) and doesn't really click with me until the full band comes in with a minute left in the track (if they came in earlier, it might sound less boring to me, but it's still an alright song imo). I find nothing interesting about the song Guns (the lyrics are kinda mundane and a bit cringey to me) and it sounds like an unfinished recording with just Chris on guitar and vocals and with it being so short. Orphans is pretty good but the WOO WOOs are starting to annoy me a bit ahahah but I still enjoy it. Èkó doesn't do a whole lot for me but again, not bad. The musical interlude before Champion of the World is jarring when it suddenly changes from the piano to the drums.
Should've just kept the piano part (ala Poppyfields). It feels like they REALLY wanted a double album, but didn't quite have enough material to justify it so they just threw some other songs on it and called it a day. I've listened to it a lot and I don't think it's BAD so much as I think it's got a painful amount of potential (that's what hurts me the most). Coldplay's third studio album, X&Y, was released on 6 June 2005. But when it succeeds (espcially with Trouble in Town and Champion of the World) it REALLY succeeds. Topping the charts in numerous countries, including the UK and the US, the album was a commercial success. X&Y went on to become the best-selling album of 2005, selling over 8.3 million copies by the end of the year.
